JASNA-GL September 2022 Picnic

On Sunday, September 4th, from 2pm to 4pm we are having a "Picnic On the Grounds" at a beautiful Historic home, now acting as the Bashford Manor Inn!!  This home was built in 1796 by Major Samuel E. Bray and his wife, Nancy Lyle Bray on land given to Samuel Bray as payment for serving in the Revolutionary War and for surveying what was then Virginia.  If you'd like to learn more, Google "Bray Place, Louisville, KY".

The house and property have been used for many purposes: from a family home to a Union encampment during part of the Civil War to a horse farm.

Dressing in Regency attire is recommended (but not mandatory).  There are some outdoor seats, but bring your own chair or blanket just to be safe.  Please use caution in the grassy areas as there may be more uneven areas and/or soft spots.

JASNA-GL will provide Kentucky Fried Chicken, iced tea, water, cups, plates, utensils, and napkins. We ask that attendees bring a side dish to share.  Please RSVP if you are coming and also what dish (or kind of dish) you are bringing so that we don't have 10 potato salads! *** If you're pinched for time that weekend and won't be able to bring anything, just RSVP with your name.  There will be plenty for everyone! ***

Parking is limited, so please park ONLY on the side of the house by the entrance to the small parking lot.  I'll have some sort of signs.

Please note that the Inn will be full the day we will be visiting, so please enjoy picnicking but do so away from any entrances to rooms where guests are staying.  We did notify the owner that all guests are invited to the picnic, so if you see a new face, feel free to welcome them.

The address is 2227 Bashford Manor Lane, Louisville, KY 40218. This facility is handicapped accessible as well. Please visit: www.bashfordmanor.com

NOTE:  Rain will NOT cancel this event.

RSVP to Janet Abell, Interim Regional Coordinator: abellj59@yahoo.com
